Crimean wines have been recognised as russian wines at international competitions

This was stated by “Ukrvinprom”.

According to the association, russian wines, including those from the occupied Crimea, received awards at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026 in Armenia.

Crimean wines were also presented as russian and received international awards at the 2026 Korea Wine Challenge in South Korea.

“Ukrvinprom” stated that this contributes to the promotion on the global market of products with a falsely indicated origin.

“This is not merely a matter of winemaking. It is a matter of international law, respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty and preventing the legitimisation of the occupation,” the statement reads.

The association has already prepared an official statement and appealed to the Ukrainian authorities to initiate a response at the international level.

Competition organisers have been urged to review their rules for participant eligibility, not to recognise products from Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories as products of another state, and to comply with international law and sanctions policy.
