The European Commission is planning to create a special mechanism to transfer funds to Ukraine for recovery and reconstruction at the expense of russian assets. The amount of money is about 50 billion euros.

MEP Viola von Cramon said that the first debate would take place in late August.

As a reminder, the European Commission proposed a new mechanism back in June. According to the MEP, after the debate, there will be a week to submit amendments, then a discussion of the final text, which is to be voted on in late November. And early next year, the EU hopes to allocate money. Earlier it was reported that the proposal would be published in September.

"Funding will be provided in three ways: through grants from the European budget, loans raised in the capital markets. And, finally, at the expense of proceeds from mobilized russian assets," said EC President Ursula von der Leyen.
