This was reported by the European Council’s press service, according to “European Pravda”.
The media platform Euromore has been added to the sanctions list; it operates within the pro-Kremlin information architecture and disseminates russian narratives and disinformation to a European audience. Furthermore, it periodically disseminates content that casts doubt on the legitimacy of EU institutions and justifies russia’s war against Ukraine.
Restrictive measures have also been imposed on the russian Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad. It is noted that this is the main instrument of the russian federation’s strategy of external influence and propaganda, established and funded by Moscow.
The legal and analytical materials on this portal are systematically used to reinforce key points of the Kremlin’s disinformation, in particular claims about the ‘Nazification’ of Ukraine, statements about ‘russophobia’ and reports of ‘systematic persecution of the russian-speaking population in neighbouring states’.
“Through their activities, these organisations bear responsibility for supporting the actions and policies of the russian government that undermine democracy, the rule of law, stability and security in the European Union and Ukraine,” the statement reads.
The European Council added that, in light of the new decisions, the EU has imposed restrictive measures against 69 individuals and 19 organisations involved in the russian federation’s destabilising activities.
