This is stated in the Euroclear financial results report.

The financial results published by Euroclear show that in the first half of the year, interest accrued on the balances of sanctioned russian assets amounted to 1.743 billion euros. Net profit for the half-year amounted to EUR 1.844 billion, which means that income from the investment of sanctioned russian assets accounts for 70% of the total net profit of the depository for the first half of 2023.

Euroclear also noted that the European Commission is considering various options for using the proceeds from blocked russian assets held by financial institutions, including Euroclear, to finance Ukraine's recovery.

In this regard, the depository aims to minimize any potential risks that may arise for it and its clients as a result of the implementation of the European Commission's proposals.
