This was revealed in a video address by Fico, according to ‘European Pravda’, citing ta3.

In the video address, Fico harshly criticised the European Commission and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the situation surrounding the Druzhba oil pipeline, which the Slovak Prime Minister described as a “deliberate violation” of Bratislava’s interests.

The Prime Minister criticised the EC for “double standards”, as, in his view, it prioritises Ukraine’s interests over those of EU member states.

He noted that Slovakia had received a “threatening letter” from Brussels regarding measures to protect the domestic fuel market, whilst Ukraine allegedly receives “letters full of love and understanding”.

In this context, the head of government threatened to block the adoption of the 20th package of sanctions against russia and to reconsider his position on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

“The European Commission has done nothing to force the Ukrainian president to take action...

If the European Commission intends to continue behaving in this manner and prioritise Ukraine’s interests over those of Slovakia, it should forget about support for the 20th package of sanctions against the russian federation or our readiness to facilitate Ukraine’s swift accession to the EU."
