The restrictions apply to presenters and journalists from state-run russian propaganda TV channels, as well as public figures who support the Kremlin’s policies.

In particular, the list includes Dmitry Guberniev, Katerina Andreeva, Maria Sittel and Pavel Zarubin, who is known for appearing on television programmes with russian leader Vladimir Putin.

In addition, sanctions have been imposed on ballet dancer Sergei Polunin and actor and singer Roman Chumakov.

As explained by the Moldovan authorities, these individuals are involved in spreading propaganda that justifies russia’s war against Ukraine, as well as in supporting actions that undermine security in the region.

The decision was taken in line with the European Union’s sanctions policy. The restrictive measures include asset freezes, travel bans and restrictions on economic activity.
