This was reported by Reuters, according to European Pravda.

The oil tanker Chariot Tide, flying the Mozambican flag, was drifting in international waters off the coast of Spain due to a broken engine.

The Spanish merchant navy dispatched a rescue vessel to the tanker, which escorted it to the port of Tangier-Med in Morocco.

The Chariot Tide, known until November as the Marabella Sun, has been on the EU sanctions list since November 2024 for helping russia export oil while ‘engaging in illegal and high-risk shipping practices.’ The vessel is also under British sanctions.

The Spanish merchant navy did not explain why the tanker was not detained, and the Ministry of Defence did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
