Swedish police arrested the sanctioned vessel Caffa, which had been in the country's waters for approximately two months, acting on a request from a foreign government whose name has not been officially disclosed.

This was reported by Yevropeyska Pravda, citing the SVT television channel.

The prosecutor's office noted that the case concerns international legal assistance and that its details are classified due to their sensitive nature. Judge Niklas Söderberg of the Ystad District Court described the situation as unusual and did not rule out that the case materials could be fully closed to public access.

The vessel was detained on March 6 in the Baltic Sea on suspicion of flying a false flag and violating maritime law and safety regulations. The russian captain was initially arrested but was subsequently released from custody, while the investigation into the vessel itself continues. The National Operations Department of the police is also involved in the case, and court hearings are expected in the upcoming months.
