This was reported on Tuesday, 16 June, on the Swiss government’s web portal, according to Ukrinform.

On 15 June 2026, the Federal Department of Economic Affairs (EAER) added 16 individuals and 7 organisations to the previously approved sanctions lists.

It is noted that the restrictive measures against them came into force at 23:00 on 16 June 2026.

It is reported that the sanctions lists include the so-called heads of youth affairs departments in Sevastopol and other russian-occupied regions of Ukraine, as well as teachers and leaders of children’s organisations engaged in ideological work aimed at the ‘re-education’ of Ukrainian children.

The Swiss authorities justified the imposition of sanctions on the grounds that the individuals in question were involved in “implementing a programme to assimilate Ukrainian children, subjecting them to ideological indoctrination and militarised education in accordance with russian state policy”.

It is noted that the individuals subject to sanctions are also involved in the deportation or forced resettlement and violent assimilation of Ukrainian minors from the occupied territories.
