The bulk carrier GRUMANT (IMO: 9385879) arrived at the Turkish port of Iskenderun, where it was received for unloading at the berth of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.

According to maritime shipping monitoring data, the cargo was loaded between 4 and 11 June at berth No. 21 of the Avlita grain terminal. The exporter listed is the russian company ‘Pallada’, which is linked to the systematic export of grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the bulk carrier GRUMANT (IMO: 9385879) is systematically used by russia in schemes to steal grain from the temporarily occupied territories, in particular Sevastopol, through the use of deceptive shipping practices (spoofing, manipulation of AIS), as well as by concealing the vessel’s true identification details, notably whilst passing through the Bosphorus Strait (by masking the IMO number and part of the vessel’s name) in order to export Ukrainian grain and raw materials from Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories.

"Since February 2024, the vessel has made a series of voyages, transporting over 78 million tonnes of wheat from the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol to the Syrian ports of Tartus and Latakia. The grain is shipped by the russian company Pallada LLC, which was founded on 3 February 2022 and specialises in the wholesale trade of grain; in Syria, the grain is received by the state-owned Syrian company, The Syrian General Organisation for Trading, Storage and Processing of Grain. Between 17 and 31 December 2024, the vessel was loaded with grain at the temporarily occupied port of Feodosia, before subsequently delivering it to Egypt. On 25 November 2025, Ukraine imposed sanctions on the vessel,” reports the Main Intelligence Directorate on the War&Sanction website.
