This was announced by the UK Foreign Office on 6 August.

In particular, the sanctions target the russian banks Ozon Bank, Roseksimbank, Centre-Invest Bank, Realist Bank, Stavr Bank and TelePort Bank. Their assets in the UK are now subject to freezing.

The list also includes the russian industrial companies Metalcomplex, Nikom, Promsiz and Technolux, which supplied goods or technology for russia’s war against Ukraine. Separate sanctions have been imposed on Alexander Zhdanov, the owner of the chemical company Siltron.

The UK government has also significantly expanded the list of vessels assisting russia in circumventing sanctions to export liquefied natural gas, crude oil or petroleum products to third countries. This includes six vessels: the gas carrier Arctic Express and the oil tankers Perseas, Torvian, Asteras, Visund and Zenturo.

These vessels are prohibited from entering British ports and may not be chartered or operated. It is also prohibited to provide them with technical, financial, brokering, crew-related or other associated services.
