The US has exempted Hungary from all sanctions against russian oil and gas

According to a White House representative quoted by Reuters, Hungary will be granted a one-year exemption from US sanctions against russian energy carriers.

 

The White House representative added that Hungary has also committed to purchasing liquefied natural gas from the US under contracts worth approximately $600 million.

 

The Hungarian Prime Minister also welcomed the decision on sanctions.

 

‘President Donald Trump has guaranteed full exemption from sanctions for the Turkish Stream and Druzhba gas pipelines, which will allow Hungary to continue to provide families with the lowest energy prices in Europe,’ Orbán wrote on Twitter.
