Although the republic's largest breweries — Plzensky Prazdroj, Budejovicky Budvar, Staropramen and Bernard — have stopped supplying russia due to the war, products continue to enter the country through intermediaries.

An analysis of customs data and state contracts showed that the federal state-owned enterprise FKP Yasen, controlled by the Foreign Intelligence Service, purchases beer from the russian company PintaKlab. It receives products from the Czech companies RedFood and Custom Trade, as well as the Serbian company Craft Connect, which was established after the war began. All of them are linked to businessman Mikhail Kapitanov.

From September 2024 to February 2025 alone, his European companies sold PintaKlab almost 1.3 million litres of beer for 25 million Czech korunas ($1.1 million).
