This was revealed in a decision by the organisation.
The UEFA Executive Committee has made official changes to the list of participants for the 2026/27 European club competition season in order to bring it into line with the current suspension of russian national teams and clubs.
The organisation has adapted the list of teams, removing russian representatives from “UEFA competitions”. This means that, in addition to European club competitions, russian teams will also miss out on the Nations League, futsal championships, the Regions’ Cup and others.
It should be noted that UEFA suspended russia back in 2022, and they have not competed in European tournaments since then. As for Belarus, UEFA has only imposed a ban on matches against Ukraine’s national teams in any UEFA tournaments, effective from 2022.
It should be recalled that the Ukrainian Football Association, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine sent appeals to the leadership of FIFA and UEFA regarding the exclusion of russia from competitions and the re-imposition of sanctions on Belarus.
