The President signed the relevant decrees No. 554 and No. 555.
Sanctions Commissioner Vladislav Vlasyuk said that they relate to the extraction, processing and supply of rare earth and rare metals, including neodymium, dysprosium, cerium, terbium, gadolinium, yttrium, indium and tantalum. These resources are key to the production of electronics, guidance systems, engines and UAVs.
‘We are working to ensure that our international partners adopt similar sanctions. Restrictions on supplies in these sectors will mean a concrete reduction in russia's capabilities on the battlefield,’ Vlasyuk said.
With regard to synchronising sanctions with the EU, Ukraine has identified 8 individuals and 45 legal entities for synchronisation, including companies from russia, China, the UAE, Iran and other countries. These are structures linked to the shadow fleet, the supply of dual-use goods in circumvention of sanctions, and the russian military-industrial complex.
Vlasyuk notes that almost 40% of the new European sanctions targets had already been included in Ukraine's sanctions list. According to the official, the greater the synchronisation, the more difficult it is for russia to circumvent sanctions.
Ukraine has already submitted specific proposals for the next, 19th EU sanctions package.
