Anti-Corruption Court confiscates assets of Russian MP Babashov

The panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld an administrative claim of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine against a Russian MP regarding the confiscation of his assets based on paragraph 1-1 of part one of Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine "On Sanctions".
The court's decision confiscated assets belonging to the defendant or in respect of which the defendant exercised rights identical to the right to dispose of them. These assets include a part of a land plot; a residential building; non-residential buildings; a vehicle; and corporate rights.
An appeal may be filed with the HACC Appeals Chamber within 5 days from the date of the decision.
The case is about Leonid Babashov, a native of Ukraine, a member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and a member of the United Russia party.
As a deputy of the State Duma, he voted in favor of the adoption of laws that were intended to legally formalize the "accession" of the occupied territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation. On his personal page on the social network, he published posts spreading the ideology of Russian propaganda.
