The High Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine against a former member of the Russian State Duma from the occupied Crimea and imposed a sanction on the defendant under paragraph 1-1 of part one of Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine "On Sanctions".

The court ruled to recover the assets of the defendant and a third party - 2 apartments and a vehicle - for the benefit of the state. The court dismissed the rest of the claims - the recovery of an apartment and another vehicle belonging to third parties.

The person in question is Oleksiy Chernyak, a former deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from the United Russia faction. As a deputy of the State Duma, he voted in favor of the adoption of laws that were intended to legally formalize the "accession" of the occupied territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.
