The decision was adopted on 27 October during an extraordinary IBSF Congress. The issue of extending the criteria for the participation of athletes with russian sporting citizenship, approved in October 2025, was put to a vote by the national federations.
Under these criteria, russian athletes may compete only as individual neutral athletes (AIN) — provided they meet the established requirements and pass the necessary checks. Their eligibility applies exclusively to individual disciplines: skeleton and monobob.
At the same time, russian and Belarusian athletes will continue to be barred from taking part in team events. These restrictions remain in force despite the updated recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
