This is according to Reuters.

The lawsuit in russia is linked to the freezing of assets in Belgium amounting to $249.43 billion. Euroclear’s lawyers stated that the financial clearing house’s right to a fair trial had been violated.

The Central Bank of russia noted in its statement that it welcomes the court’s decision, “which recognised Euroclear’s actions as unlawful”.

The Central Bank filed a claim for 18.2 trillion roubles in Moscow in December 2025 in response to the European Union’s plan to use russian sovereign assets frozen in Europe — mainly with Euroclear — to secure a loan for Ukraine.
